Google Chrome Browser (152.0.7977.64) Security Update Recommendation

Google has released an update to address a vulnerability in the Chrome browser. This update applies to Windows and Mac users running Chrome versions earlier than 152.0.7977.64/.65, And Linux users running Chrome versions earlier than 152.0.7977.64.

This update addresses vulnerabilities in numerous features, including Accessibility, Angle, Aura, Autofill, Browser, Canvas, Chromoting, Devtools, Extensions, GPU, Media, Mobile, Network, Safe Browsing, V8, WebGL, WebRTC, and Views. The vulnerability types include Type Confusion, UAF (use-after-free), buffer overflow, out-of-bounds reads and writes, information disclosure, improper authorization, race conditions, and improper input validation.

Many of these vulnerabilities are classified as “Severe” or “High.” For example, Type Confusion (CVE-2026-79175) and UAF (CVE-2026-79183) in Accessibility, UAF in Angle (CVE-2026-79282), UAF in Aura (CVE-2026-79290 and 2 others), UAF in Chromecast (CVE-2026-79054 and one other) and improper input validation (CVE-2026-79121), Mobile’s use of an uninitialized variable (CVE-2026-78935), Safebrowsing’s UAF (CVE-2026-79012), Views’ UAF (CVE-2026-79150), a buffer overflow in WebGL (CVE-2026-78948), a use-after-free (UAF) in V8 (CVE-2026-78899), and type confusion (CVE-2026-78938 and one other).

Google released patches via an update on August 25, 2026. Users should update to Chrome 152.0.7977.64/.65 Or later.
