Is My Personal Information Safe? How to Immediately Check Information Leaked to Telegram
Recently, Telegram has become a hotspot for personal information leaks. Threat actors are utilizing Infostealer malware to steal users’ account credentials and financial information, which are then shared on Telegram channels or sold to other threat actors. Telegram is a popular platform for threat actors to quickly distribute the information they have stolen since it guarantees anonymity and is easily accessible. This means that many users are left unaware of their information being leaked and are put at risk.
To address this issue, AhnLab has introduced a new feature in V3 Mobile Security that protects user’s personal information.
The newly added “Data Leak Checker” feature involves collecting the account credentials that have been leaked through Telegram (Compromised Data Set, CDS) and analyzing and managing the data in the AhnLab Threat Intelligence Platform (AhnLab TIP). Through this feature, V3 Mobile Security users can easily check if their account credentials have been leaked.
The “Data Leack Checker” feature can be used by all V3 Mobile Security users, regardless of whether they are Telegram users or not. Once leaked, there is a high possibility of secondary damage as personal information may be further exploited in cybercrimed or traded in the Deep Web.
V3 Mobile Security supports users by allowing them to check for and prevent such threats in advance. The V3 Mobile Security is an integrated mobile security solution optimized for Android devices. The recently added “Data Leak Checker” feature allows users to easily check the security of their accounts.
The feature is also very easy to use. Users simply have to enter their email address and submit the verification code sent to that email to immediately check if their account credentials have been leaked.

Data leaks can pose serious security threats not only to individuals but also to businesses. If the stolen information includes corporate accounts, threat actors can use this information to breach corporate networks. The collected email addresses can be used to send spam emails and launch various attacks.
Furthermore, once personal information is leaked, it cannot be retrieved, and it is difficult to seek remedy afterward. Therefore, it is crucial for users to strictly manage their personal information and take preventive measures at all times. Actively utilizing the Data Leak Checker feature of V3 Mobile Security is also an effective response.
V3 Mobile Security supports English in addition to Korean, so English-speaking users can also easily use the personal information leak check feature.
